Hey guys. Hope you all are doing well?
This past week I travelled to Bukovel, a town in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine. I must say it is a place to visit.
Bukovel is popularly known as a ski resort but I went during the summer and still enjoyed myself.
The mountains, trees and atmosphere is just breath taking. It’s pretty much a huge land with various things to take part in at every corner.
One of the things I truly loved was the fact that you can walk to any place you want to. Everywhere is a walking distance, so there’s no need to call a taxi, but of course if you drive there you can go places with your car.
You will find hotels literally everywhere because it’s a tourist center. One remarkable thing about the whole town of Bukovel is that everything is translated to English. They have sign boards in English and a lot of the staffs in hotels, restaurant and the entertainment areas speak English. Also, the people I met were so civilized and nice. Not that there ain’t nice people in other parts of Ukraine but I will say that in some parts of Ukraine you will find racists and people looking at you weirdly (if you’re black that is).
But in Bukovel it was totally different. People were super nice and no one looked at my friend and I in a funny manner.
I also have to mention that if you want to have fun to the fullest, you gotta have enough money on you because taking part in the various activities will cost you some bucks. I personally had a budget of $100 ( for 3 days) and I was able to stick to that, mostly because I gave up on some things that were over my budget.
The weekends are both the best and worse time to visit Bukovel. Best due to the fact that you’d get to see a whole lot of people (the more the merrier right?). Worse because the prices for most activities costs more during weekends and/or holiday season.
I stayed in the beautiful and affordable Bukville hotel. If you’re going to book your hotel before arriving (which you should, especially during summer, winter or a holiday period) make sure to book a hotel that’s close to the center of Bukovel or one close to “lift 1 or 2”. Because as I mentioned earlier, most places are a walking distance but you would have to get a taxi or walk nonstop if you book a place that’s too far from the center.
I personally never saw a taxi, only buses going in and out of the town.
Here are some fun things to try out in Bukovel:
- ROLLER COASTER ZIPLINE
- BIKE ZIP
- A VISIT TO THE CARPATHIAN MOUNTAINS (which you’ll see in my vlog linked below)
- CABLE RIDE
- BUNGEE JUMPING
- HORSE RIDING
- SWIMMING (VODA CLUB)
- TAKING A WALK THROUGH THE TOWN
One place that didn’t meet up to my expectation was the spa house, most specifically the Jacuzzi area. The Jacuzzi bathtub was super small and looked like it’d be inconvenient. I peeped into the other rooms for the massage and facials and it didn’t give off a good vibe. Hopefully they work on that, cause I really wanted to enjoy a spa time.
Well, that pretty much sums up my trip to Bukovel.
Have you ever been to Bukovel? Would you like to after reading this and watching my vlog? Is there a place you would like to recommend I visit?
Let me know in the comments below. Thanks for the read.
